sanlorenzo experts?

but I'm a big fan of what I would call timeless designs
Yup you're right. We love our Ferretti 630 because of the layout and the space but it is a typically modern design which is more like a floating apartment than a boat. The older designs from the likes of SL and Canados still retain that little ship feeling that the more modern designs have lost. On the other hand, the builders know that it is accommodation space that sells boats at boat shows so they're only doing what the market is demanding

there is a simple solution to that Mike,
just buy the boat that has slightly more ft than that you originally want / need

I would say, a 70...75ft boat with a extended platform is about the right size :) :)

You sound like my SWMBO, Bart. She's always telling me bigger is better;)

What doesn't he like about the SL72?
Wrong question, M: just re-read what B wrote:
he said that the guy adores his wooden Canados more than the SL, not that there's anything he doesn't like about the latter..
But adoration? That's something only wooden boats can deserve.
Together with hate, of course. I bet that the guy also hates his Canados more than the SL, in fact. :)
