Sandolin PV67 over existing varnish.

Having just removed somewhat grubby fitted carpet for cleaning not sure I want to refit.
The team/holly striped plywood sole is in good nick having been protected by the carpet.
I plan to go over with a couple of coats of Sandolin PV 67 satin. This is a 2 pack but the owners handbook which amazingly is still on the boat says this was what was originally used. So presumably it’s therefore OK?

No doubt about durability of PV67 ,having used it over 20 years ago on new furniture drawer fronts and more recently on the timber trim in bathroom and shower room.And of course it is widely used on timber floors over many years .I did note that despite being specifically advised for bar tops the literature now or previously advised against use in wet areas ,presumably where water will actually lie.Since you don't know what it has actually been maintained with over the years you might consider full removal of what is already applied before starting new work .
Whether it's sufficiently slip free might depend on the amount of water,if any, you take through the hatch ,and footwear.

It looks like the original finish so assume it’s the PV67 the Sadler handbook says was used. I was planning to clean with detergent and scrubbing pads and then key with fine wetndry; definitely not sanding off.
