Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 GPS?

Android has GPS as normal. Whether it has All systems such as Glonass, Indian, Chinese as well as the USA GPS is down to branding,

One exception to this is the Amazon Kindle Fire, at least the version I have, which is a few years old. I was a bit shocked when I discovered this, so I had a nose around the internet. Opinions seemed to be divided between "the chip is fitted but isn't enabled" and the chip isn't fitted. In either case, a serious failing, to my mind. Even my Hudl, which must be 7 or 8 years old now, and very much budget kit has one, and runs Navionics fine, if only I could see the screen on a sunny day.

Kindle - interesting info. I always regarded the Kindle as an eBook reader ... never thought of it as a useable tablet. Tks for info.

As regards screens on sunny days ... its a serious problem we have with Drones ... being able to see screens .. so a lot of us have foldable sun shades for our tablets ... easy to make in card or sheet foam.
I have to make one for my Chart Plotter actually - reminded me.

I also have my eye on the Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 10.4 as a good choice of tablet to run Navionics on. I've been holding back for two reasons though.

Firstly, Samsung make a 64GB version, which is available in other countries but seemingly not sold by Samsung in the UK. Some (import?) models are available from non-mainstream suppliers, but I've been holding back, partly in the hope Samsung will eventually introduce the 64GB model here and partly in annoyance that they seem only to be allowing an inferior product to be sold in the UK.

Secondly, I was hoping to find a good waterproof (or close) case for the A7 10.4, but there don't seem to me to be many good options. Does anyone have / can anyone recommend something suitable?

Peeves me too. I have the 32, and with Navionics and a couple of other apps that's yer lot really. Of course, the other grumble is that app makers don't make proper use of the sd card, so last time I looked Navionics will only install in device memory. I did start trying to 'root' it last week in order to get rid of the pre-installed stuff to get more space, but lost the will to live when the instructions I followed wouldn't work.

Edit ps. In case people have long memories and wonder what's going on, I also have a cheap Acer (£60?) in an Aquapac which is the one that lies wherever it falls and isn't worried over. The Samsung's for home use.

I have an Otterbox on my 10'' A7. Wouldn't trust it for waterproof ability but it takes the odd splash of seawater or rain with no ill effect. Its very tough and enables me to glue a fixing on tge back to mount it at the nav table, under the sprayhood and at the helm. I took the tablet to a shop to check that it fitted correctly and the charging port lined up.
