Saltys on the IOW

Update:
We went to Saltys and ate in the restaurant and I have to say the food was superb as was the atmosphere and service. Loved it. Went downstairs to sample the one man band doing his stuff and yeh...had it not been for the fact we were 3 girlies on our own, it would have been a good laugh but as it was...we had the usual 'in your face blokes' thinking hey... '3 girlies, no blokes...they must be up for it!' etc etc, yawn yawn (gotta say that's the only drawback with doing girly weekends but hey ho...such is life) so we supped up PDQ and headed over the road to the Kings Head (?) where we had a great evening and a good laugh.
I will go back to Saltys for sure as, with our other halves, I think it'd be a real giggle (if a tad cramped).
I have to say, they have the most well spoken doorman I've ever come across too!
Great weekend and just love Yarmouth. What friendly and helpful harbour staff they have.

The nice well spoken doorman was probably a relative of the nice well spoken owner of the establishment

I know folks that only go to Salty's and almost weekly as they love it. Regulars get looked after very well, especially if they drink a lot.
To me, it's the worst... Rude, loud, naff food and a rip off. No Rats will go there again for sure.:p

'On the rocks', the steak is perfect. In Salty's you get what they give you and lump it. They (she) will argue that a medium rare steak should be brown right through. On top of that drinks over priced so you can double your bill easily. :disgust:

The locals do eat in Saltys, it's nice and quiet in the winter! Downstairs is always loud and dancing on tables etc that's what it's known for. I prefer upstairs....

On the Rocks is also good but I find when it's full you smell of cooking after.
