Saltys on the IOW

Great food, good beer, the cheapo wine is awful. Nice place, good location, music, ambience is good, its a great lively night out.

Its a shame that the owner is a rude lecherous drunken pig.

So apart from its obvious charm that Ben so enjoys it does seem to be the place to go if you have chartered a boat.... its loud and noisy and full of a certain type of boater that I go out my way to avoid.

+1 There have been a few thumping matches in there too. Avoid IMHO

On The Rocks...you cook your own food on the slab at the table? Don't know if I fancy that much. I need a bit more convincing please.

Try it Lisa, I was very much of the same feeling, do I really want to be cooking my own food?!!! But so long as you are not veggie, the quality of the steaks are superb, the salads are fantastic and the skinny fries as good as you get in France...

I'm not a fan of Salty's; but I do agree the comments about On the Rocks, we've always had a good time there. Better suited to groups than couples imho.

I have been there around twenty times over five years, its good, but down stairs is noisy, if you have kids its good as they encouraged to draw on the table and furniture, upstairs is more calm, but less fun, all in all I think its great, never had a **** meal always been good. I mainly eat fish, so being selfish that works too, but they do cater for non fish eaters.

Lisa, last time I was there was during the Sealine cruise. I recall dancing on the tables after the meal sandwiched between two ladies doing their best dirty dancing impression. Other than that, the place is ok :)
