Actually it's supposed to be a very good way to go! Seems that endorphines are released and a feeling of contentment comes over you. Haven't experienced it myself.

Sad story though..Reminds me to wear my lifejacket next time I check the boat

Another sad story with warnings for us all particularly in the winter. A man was recovered from Burnham Yacht Harbour a couple of weeks ago - a liveboard who fell in and died of hypothermia.

Same thing happened at Hayling Yacht Co too, a few weeks ago....went out for a pee......never came back.

He may not have drowned ,hopefully it was natural circumstances and quick,your conjecture was not pleasant.

No it wasn't, was it? But it's what I tend to think when people say things like "He died doing what he loved". I love sailing, but I sure as hell don't want to be run down by an oil tanker.
