Talk about jet-ski hooligans, nish - they got nothing on RS200 hooligan dinghy sailors. I was anchored off Abersoch two weeks ago, when we were approached on our port side by an RS200 blow-along thing heading straight for us. At the last minute, they veered just enough to run over our bathing platform!!

Now I thought this was a genuine mistake and the two guys on board hadn't seen us - but no!! This happened another 6 times and on two occasions the chap leaning out of the blow-along brushed his back against my stainless steel work at the stern. Not sure what these blow-alongs were up to, but it reinforces my previously formed opinion that dinghy sailors are just as selfish and stupid as bloody jet-skiers.

Rubby Dubby

This is a disgusting mix of fish innards and general blood and guts that have been left to "mature" a little. It is used in fishing to attract other larger fish, sharks etc.

...and a bloody brilliant idea for RS200 blow-alongers.

Don't understand you problem.

Have engines running and as RS2000 scrapes past give a decent burst of throttle, both engines. He will no longer be close to the stern and would if I am not mistaken stay quite a way off the next time he wants to pass.

You could also relieve yourself off the platform.

I suspect you were on a racing course. Put simply the shortest way round you is to only just miss you. I remember a fair few years ago being moored at Waldringfield on the Deben smack in the middle of a race course. One boat hooked our pulpit with his shrouds and capsised. Generally this would not be a race boat's aim, hitting stuff is slow!

Funnily, I drew the same conclusion in the end. I hadn't deliberately chosen this spot, it just worked out that way. I felt like I was singled out for some target practice, or some kinda perverse revenge against anything with an engine!!
