Can anyone recommend any decent sailing simulation games software for PC. I'm looking for a bit of virtual regatta racing to put on the Christmas list, ideally something with a selection of different sized craft where you can actually control the sails, helm realistically, bark orders at the crew etc. Also to include variable locations/weather conditions etc.

Many thanks

Ive been using 'Interactive Sailing' Its been out sometime - regatta racing.
Three regatta courses, choose wind speeds and direction, levels of ability, be skipper or crew or both. Its cheap and cheerful. Its also got some sailing video clips you can watch.

Why not go the whole hog? Sleep under the coffee table until your wife comes in at four in the morning, switches on the lights and shouts 'you're on watch'. You go into the kitchen and make a cup-a-soup in an enamel mug, burn your hands and tongue then go into the garden to play the game in the dark. You have of course taken the precaution of dampening all your clothes first? It just remains to find a hard bench at an uncomfortable angle, switch on you laptop and start playing. By now the cup-a-soup has gone cold of course. If you've a really willing kind of wife she may volunteer to come into the garden every five minutes or so and chuck a bucket of water over you. Happy Christmas

Forget a thing for the PC - get them to buy you a session on the simulator there - absolutely unbelievable! When they first opened it they had a session for the hoi polloi and the Principal's P.A. threw up!
