Second Wind Sailing

Another vote for Second Wind Sailing.
Top instruction, nice boat, no hidden extras and nice food on board.

At most schools the ratio of students to instructor is 5:1.
At Second Wind is 4:1. Lots of practical hands-on time.

Oban Sea School

From Webcraft's list I would recommend http://www.obanseaschool.co.uk/. Great boat and dedicated, knowledgeable instructor, Robert Kincaid. A single boat school that is dedicated to tuition.

He built his current boat specifically for tuition using his experience from previous production boats as sailing schools. For example the rig is taller and has a slightly larger sail to take advantage of the lighter summer winds. Also the layout of the cockpit and saloon is specified for space when fully crewed.

Another vote for Oban Sea School . I did my Competent Crew with them about 5 years ago, and then my DS last year (and an ICC cert). Robert is a wealth of knowledge, patient, and a good cook, so it was an enjoyable and educational experience on both occasions, and I'll be back again (I like the thought of a trip to St Kilda).

+1 from me. Did my comp crew with Robert 3 years ago. My first time on a boat so I didn't really appreciate just how good it was until I'd done some other sailing.

yet another vote for Second Wind. SWMBO and I both did CC there and I followed up with my DS. Still trying to get back to do my YM at some point, not so easy now I am spending most of my time in the US these days.
