You know the 'synthetic leather' types that go stiff after rinsing and drying.

Apart from putting them on and getting them wet, anyone know of something that can keep the gloves supple? Preferably noon-greasy on the inside.

Moisturising cream on outside? But then they'd be too slippy for use on deck

Use woven ones - preferably the cheap non-boaty ones covered in beads of plastic to help grip. These work fine for me.

I am sure you are right.

My current ones are 19 years old (and still good surprisingly) made by bei mrine ltd - a BRITISH company - hooray.

Pig to put on and pig to take off, whereas the ones you mention would be easy to put on and take off.

Thanks

I have always simply rinsed them to get salt out before. They smell clean but maybe the soap suds or whatever keep them soft.

I will try washing them therefore.

Many thanks.
