Hi I'm looking into exchanging my motor boat for a Hirondelle MK2 catamaran
I don't have any experience apart sailing dinghies and monohulls some time ago
Does anyone have any advice etc
Thanks

I think you will find the cat really easy to sail. Perhaps not so close to wind on a beat. The thing about cats is that they do not complain about too much wind they just go better and faster until it is too much when catastrophe can occur. So skipper must make the decision to reef etc based on prudence and not on how the boat is performing. Be careful and conservative and you will love it. ol'will

lovely small cat, had one years ago
catastrophe on a cruising cat v unlikely, pull the lee board up if you are concerned and obviously check weather / reef it down
but never had any concerns about mine in 'sensible' weather

Nice little cats, pretty easy to sail and very conservatively designed so disaster is unlikely. You can have a lot of fun and get in places few boats can - just take it easy as you learn the boat and you'll be treating it like a dinghy in no time.
