Racers don't need anchors because they have superior skills, or something.

Don't they just shout "water" or something and give Pooh Bear stares? I usually head off in the opposite direction if I see a racing fleet.

They were unfortunate that wave hit them when it did.

That must be where I went wrong as when I was a racer we often used to sit on the startline with the anchor out and the tide holding us back whilst we waited for the breeze to kick in! :encouragement:

They always seem to wear expensive sunglasses so I am never sure if they are glowering or winking at me. Doesn't everybody tow a rigid dinghy on a three hundred foot painter?

Only in Scotland, down here we tow inflatables.

I'm planning a trip back home, Loch Eil, in a few years I wonder where I will need to swap the dinghy?
