Hello, my first time here on the forum and I am wondering if anyone could please recommend a sailing school offering sailing tuition on a classic yacht in the UK?? Gaff rigged or bermudian sloop would be fine.

The latest issue of classic boat mag has a section about classic boats for charter. You could try Trinity Sailing in Brixham for Gaffers. I know of a RYA school based in the Solent called Select Sailing which has a good reputation and a rather nice looking 43' Morgan Giles sloop.

My brother and I both did our RYA Day Skipper courses with Select sailing 2 years ago and I would happily recommend them if you want to sail on a classic sloop. You could try Our Daddy (Gaffer) running out of Looe (I think).

Hi
If you want the best training I can recommend The Square rig seamanship course offered by Square Sail shipyard in cornwall. Thier course runs for six months and teaches everything you need to know about being a deck hand on a tradditionally rigged vessel. It also culmanates in a STCW Yacht rating certificate .
You can find them on the internet.
