Had a new UV strip on the genoa and both sails cleaned. Cost came to 200 quid. Is this about right??
Prompt service and everything explained before work carried out.

IIRC I paid £100 for a UV strip to be fitted No cleaning required and no old strip to remove either ( Cover care... just over the fence in Thornham marina)

A few years ago IIRC Rockall/Arun charged a bit more than £300 to do a new UV strip on a Berwick genoa. Included removal of old strip, washing and some repairs incl a new leech line

Sails are for a leisure 23, so not massive yet no dinghy sized sails. I'll be honest I didn't have a clue as to what the work would cost. The old UV strip needed to be removed and the new one put on. There were one or two areas of stitching needed through wear. Both the main and genoa were cleaned. So it seems the sail loft did a fair bit for the money. Nice to know that there are still companies out there that give a decent service for a decent price. I'll use them again when needed.

What a fantastic price and service... who are they?

Arun Sails in Bosham did the work. I could have replaced the UV strip myself, I have an industrial sewing machine as I use one in my line of work. The one thing I don't have a lot of is time. So it seemed easier to get someone to do the work for me. I'm aiming to have the boat back in the water at the end of january. Theres enough to be done on the boat in other areas.

I don't grudge money spent at the sailmaker. Any time that a sail is in for any reason, you know that the whole sail will have been checked over when you get it back, and put right if necessary.
