sail making

I've been looking for a sail making/repair and canvas work course (applicable to live-aboard life) , so far with no luck. I'm restricted to the summer (mid July until early September) - any suggestions?

I had a chat with my local sailmaker. Out lined my lack of knowledge, asked for help and advise. got both, I now have a comprehensive first aid kit and a sailmaker that is interested in my project.

I think the Nottage Institute (Wivenhoe, Essex) runs a ropework course ... not sure on sails though.

note to all the posters on this thread - we can give better advice if you fill in your profile, for example it's no use recommending a school in falmouth to someone who lives in yorkshire.

I'm living abroad, based in UK, so I don't mind where in Britain the course is.

An ordinary sewing course will probably give you sufficient knowledge to repair sails and do canvas work.
