I have a Crusader sail for a 315 you are welcome to have for a few quid - I could never get it to set right.

I have used Crusader for a full set of 6 sails in the past but will no longer use them. When I wanted new sails for Concerto, I specified Vektran but they decided to change the genoa to dacron to make the quote cheaper. Never bothered with them and would never even ask for a quote now.Op had better knock Crusader off the list of sail makers then![]()
That concurs with my experience. We race with Sanders sails in the XOD class. Another plus point is their easy waterside location. You can take the boat to Berthon or Town Quay and walk to them easily, and away again with a large sail bag if that’s the way you like to do things. What I like about Sanders is they do what they say they will -sadly the concept of customer care is missing from many marine suppliers but they have always been first rate and the product seems reliable. As for elvstrom don’t bother as far as I’m concerned.
I’m sure they do. We tend to pop over in the RIB and pick up the X sails. My skipper likes to talk things through with them. He’s quite picky with his requirements, Pete gets a fair bit of feedbackThey deliver to Haslar![]()
I see. I have a friend of 45 years standing who makes any stainless bits I need. He gets to sail on the boat, so has an incentive. We just had Ullman deliver our new sail for the tri. On time, and fitted by them. Ullman also know about customer service. Rare in the marine business sadly. Those we know who offer it are to be treasured and supported.Yes I am just waiting for a suitable day/wind to try out my new sail from him just delivered. Sadly waiting on the stainless fabricator currently who is demonstrating more traditional marine customer facing skills so far.
Another one to add to the list and talk to is Sanders sails. I'm biased as I have some and they have been easy to work with and clear on the options and factors to take into account, fairly used to dealing with sailors all over the world.
