sail \'lubricant\'

At times I have difficulty pulling up the mainsail even though I feed through the 'luff' edge bit by bit. The sail is just old and not as smooth as it once were. Is there any sail suitable lubricant that would help to ease its passage?

Thanks

McLube the luffrope [is bona fide, non-commercial punt allowed?], and also Mc the mast-groove the hard way in a bo'sun's chair. Works for several hoists, and even the "heavies" endorse it- I watched some guys spraying their 5o5 spinaker and the chute like the stuff was water!

Re: sail \'lubricant\'

Ive used PTFE spray and silicone spray in the past but what I found worked the best for me was a good dollop of silicone grease worked up the track
I bought ten 100g tubes on eBay for about a tenner delivered and thats a lifetimes supply
Really handy not only for sail slides, but also zips, shackles, fuel/water tank filler o-rings and electrical connectors
