I have fully battened main with round grp battens. The battens are sleeved and secured at either end in plastic captive housings with tension adjustment. On the leech end (where the batten popped out) there is a plastic round guide and then a housing where a tension screw is inserted. Both of these fixings are secured through the sail onto a square backing pad. These two backing pads are separate allowing articulation between the two fixings and about 20mm apart. I am wondering whether to remove these two square backing pads and replace with a single rectangular backing pad securing both leech end fixings preventing them articulating and allowing the batten to pop out.
Am i overthinking this and is it popping out due to poor tensioning maybe?
