Well I for one think that your remarks offer an extremely sad example of the worst that is available on these fora.
There is no reason, subject to reasonable weather, why it wouldn't have worked & certainly nothing wrong wish supporting the ideas & issues raised by the whole Live 8 thing.
Whether or not you agree with the principals of the event your respone is childinsh in the extreme. I would think most right thinking people would be disgusted by your remarks.

Perhaps this idea from Geldof was misjudged.
The people of Africa certainly need some help.
