Sadler 34 stanchion base

A good friend (who is a technophobe) has severely damaged a stanchion base beyond repair and is looking for a “like for like “ replacement. No manufacturing marks or numbers. Anyone got any ideas where he can get one?

Take a picture, post it here - someone may recognise it. There are not that many makers of stanchions.

I find it stunningly amazing - so many people have a mobile phone that can perform a whole and varied number of functions - that no-body uses (the myriad of functions)

I was going to ask - is it aluminium, and that seems to be the case, I've seen similar in stainless (but cannot define how you could buy them) - but they would not match.

I've never heard of Proboat (note I live 'down under'). I thought they might be from Ronstan and ......

.... I had a quick search - there are lots of stainless bases, similar, but not identical to the one for which you search like this

and e-bay in Oz has lots, in stainless - probably all from the same supplier in China

I may need one also as my stanchion was bent and I am having some difficulty in removing it from the base. None of the stainless alternatives have the same fixing pitch

My previous boat had a whole set of knackered Al stanchion bases - original stanchions were Al, but had been replaced with stainless, hence the crumbling!

I just took the best one to a stainless fabricator and he made up a nice "bling" set in a matching hole/fitting pattern.
