Sadler 26 window leak

Hello and Welcome

A pal has a Sadler 34 replaced the windows in a weekend. Reported it was an easy job just needed a bit of time.

Welcome to the forums!

There's an interesting PBO article here which could be useful to you...

Renovating boat windows - Practical Boat Owner
I generally followed this procedure when doing the windows on my Mirror Offshore but used butyl rubber tape to seal the frame to the boat and PU 40 sealant to seal glass into the frames. The butyl tape was sourced from Salop Caravans and is quite cheap and easily cleaned up using turps.
As said in the article, removing the frames from the boat and the glass from the frames takes ages but you must remove all traces of previous sealant before re sealing. I didn't use spacer blocks as the windows are only 450mm long and it worked ok. I was very chuffed with the result.
The frames themselves were quite corroded and I did wonder whether anyone makes and bends new ones but didn't investigate further.

Hello again #sadlerwindow thread ! A year later doing the job - what would people do with this crumbly corner? Is it epoxy or sealant & what would I use to make good before replacing my window ? Thanks! Charlotte
