Just got an offer on my boat !

The other half wanted me to sell it, so I thought If I put the price high enough no one would want to touch it ?

Well it did not work !

What shall I do ? I love this boat !

Tom

ps And its a trawler boat !

If you don't want to sell it then don't.
If the offer is exceptional then do sell it but make sure you buy something else to fall in love with.
Sell "the other half" instead. /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

Libya welcomes careful drivers...

...but not yachtsmen, I understand. I gather that the British Ambassador to Libya has to keep his boat in Malta because they don't want him gadding about Tripoli Harbour and spying on their state of the art navy and its high tech oars and rowlocks.

Don't do it Tom! Wives can be traded in for a replacement; a good boat is priceless.

Re: Libya welcomes careful drivers...

I hope this offer is from a "time waster" !

It would keep her happy ! and I would just have to take it of the market and say "I told you no one wants my boat " !

Funny games us adults play !

I was going to say no to selling the boat but I never thought it would be so easy ?

You heartless cruel person. Someone has fallen in love with your craft and you're toying with them, teasing. You soulless fiend. Call yourself a man .. you flirt. You'r leading 'em on and then dumping .. how could you?

Best thing you can do now is just let them have the boat .. for nothing! Its the least you can do to make amends .. and they obviously will treasure it.

<hr width=100% size=1>.. whit way roon should it be again ..

Re: Libya welcomes careful drivers...

For a small consideration, I am sure a few MoboChat peeps would put together a consortium of timewasters to approach you at regular intervals over the next couple of months, spend loads of time humming and hawing, offer an OTT price and then withdraw it for no apparent reason a few days later. A few weeks of this should convince SWMBO that she is on a hiding to nothing.

In fact, I sense a business opportunity here; I'm sure there are a number of people who'd like to avail themselves of such a service.

In the meantime, it sounds as if you have been collared by the only serious punter in the UK. Bad luck, mate! /forums/images/icons/crazy.gif

ALWAYS TAKE THE MONEY! It's so comforting in the pocket and much more fun looking for another, and you meet so many interesting people.

Sell the boat, but first hide some rotting veg in at least three inaccessible, obscure places around the bilge. (just before collection).

Then, three months later, you'll be able to buy it back, at least £20 grand cheaper.

Spend £10K on jewelry, health spa weekend, hire of Peter Andre for a night etc.

Pocket the other £10K.

Life will be bliss!

If I was the prospective buyer of a boat and I had put in what I thought was a generous offer, I would be pretty pissed off if the seller then decided that he didnt want to sell after all. I would feel the seller had wasted my time not to mention the time and money of the broker
If you didnt want to sell her, why did you put her on the market?
Take the money and have fun finding something better

Yes but the difference between an offer and the price they are prepared to pay after survey are two different things!

You may well not want to take the end offer!! and there is nothing they can do to force you into a lower price!

Good Luck

Barry

No Tom, you have to be careful with prawns.

That fishy smell may have the reverse effect !

But Tom...why are you selling it?? Other half wants you to?? Doesn't add up or make sense, unless you are looking to either go up market or down market.

What are you looking to achieve from the sale - no boat at all?? (heaven forbid).

C'mon buddy - spill the real reasons, your friends on here can't help you without that! :)

I was working on the principle that any SWMBO who doesn't like boats, must have bad taste!

I'll take the old girl off your hands for you, I've got a nice safe place to keep her and you can come round and use her whenever you want.

Plus you can keep the boat as well !

Tom

There are two good days with a boat, the day you buy it and the day you sale it.

You have a good day now!
