Man dies in boat accident
By Orlando Crowcroft
A 62-YEAR-OLD father died yesterday after his boat hit rocks off Corbière in the early hours of the morning.
Another man who was on the boat swam to shore to raise the alarm shortly before 1 am.
A full air and sea search was launched, and in mid-morning a boat was spotted on the seabed off the Demie des Pas lighthouse, where it had been carried by the tide.
Divers found the body of Alvalo Luis Silva Neves, a Portuguese mechanic who had lived in Jersey for 40 years, still inside his 5.3-metre cruiser Blue Lady.
Mr Neves, although not married, had a long-term partner, a son and two stepdaughters in the Island. He lived in St Helier.
