As far as I understand they are just closing the base there, the planes will just come from other bases. I must admit I always wondered about the economy of having a relatively small base here. What is more worrying is what will happen if the Max's are not flying next year and Ryanair and a lot of other airlines have their aircraft replacement programmes screwed up

I suspect with all the revelations about certification the Max will be squeaky clean

It can’t ever be - the basic desIgn is flawed and unstable - great for a twitchy warplane but not great for a passenger plane as everything has to go right with the corrective software every time every day or every year.
