I am in the process of installing my Rutland 913. Whilst awaiting the appropriate fitting for the pole to be made up I have decided to install the HRDX. If I hook it up to the batteries without an input from the generator is this likely to be a problem?

Just bought one of these - to be installed this weekend with my Aero4gen (solar panels to follow!).

I don't think it will matter if you connect it to the batteries without an input - this is how it is designed (ie to stop flow from the batteries, and to limit flow into the batteries). Essentially it would just assume the Rutland 913 was stopped or there was no wind!

Just my humble opinion of course!

Don't see why it should cause a problem - it will just assume there's no wind. It will of course register the voltage once connected so you can watch it drop !

I use the HRDX as a battery banks ( x2) indicator all the time. I had the 913 off the boat for a few days, whilst a new mast for it was made, and there were no problems
