Rutland 913 installation

I'm sure this has come up before but I'm struggling to find a pipe clamp or U bolt to fit around the 913 mounting pole, 1 3/4" (45mm) od. Any ideas?

What I'm trying to do is brace the pole to my pushpit which is 1" od so the next part of my question is has anyone any ideas how to do it?

You could always get some of their bits, and because they are 316 marine grade stainless they can be welded to custom make something that will fit.

The welding and the twisty plate cost around £30-£40 IIRC

Almost forgot (hence the edit) that it's better to get a bigger clamp and pad it out with tough rubber to absorb vibrations and noise from the wind gen

For the last six years mine has survived on a stainless exhaust clamp from Kwik Fit

See my previous posting a long time ago where I posted a photo of the small clamp kit I bought from SeaTeach in Emsworth.

As well as the four U-bolts it included a small stainless plate with the four holes drilled in it.. Easy to make but with that square plate it's all very easy to fix.

I did it using two interlinked stainless heavy duty hose clips - the kind with a bolt rather than a worm drive. It works very well.

A good idea to use as much absorbtion between clamps etc as advised by Snooks, as well as padding any pole from the deck fixing itself with a firm rubber or similar.
A straight forward 'U' bolt may not suit to fit sound absorption with it but would however be cheaper.

The stays/shrouds/support arms can easily transmit small noises from the wind generator and it may not be noticed until you are trying to sleep on a mooring, yet still wanting to charge those batteries.

Used two S/Steel hose clips on mine, no ploblems so far and a cheaper option

Forgot to add that since changing boats my Rutland is at present held on by 4 large Jubilee clips.........

yet another job to do!

And mine has from two welded lugs, two rigid 25mm braces coming down at 45 to the deck, one athwart and the other forward.
Where the main pole passes the pushpit I substituted steel for a multilashing/spanish windlass. Simple, neat, less energy transference( ahem , possibly)

I used 3 saddle clamps, one suitable for 50mm pipe, and the other two for 25mm.
These were fabricated for about £40.
Hopefully the attached pic will show how it goes together

I'd have thought a sturdy lashing would do the job, and perhaps provide some of that sound deadening people are after. Various parts of my boat are held on like that, and Wharrams are held together by lashings!
