Just about to order a new fully battened mainsail with all cars instead of just on the batten ends. Any ideas on relative merits of Selden OWS versus Rutgerson? Track slide, Harken and Ronstan over my budget.

I have the Rutgerson cars (those with four wheels)
On all battens and also the intermediate ones on the upper half
the lower half there are normal slides on the intermediate ones

Same cars as on the old sail inherited from the PO
works fine and seems to last long

I don't have independent prices but have one quote with Selden OWS and one with Rutgerson and prices are in same ballpark so Selden may well be copy of Rutgerson.
Thanks for offer of s/h but think sailmaker reluctant to incorporate this also sizes specific to mast type. Think part of problem is v. old sliders misshapen/twisted so all cars of any description should be improvement. I guess it is possible to adapt a sail to Tides Marine system if I'm wrong?

I've got Rutgerson cars on the six batten slides and regular bullet slides on all others.
Been very happy with them, I've broken two in 15 years but spare wheel assemblies are readily available and not expensive.
