Who and why ?
I found it quite extraordinary the sheer number of Americans in the Caribbean who thought that - their boat being US territory - their US right to bear arms outweighed local laws. It didn't even cross their minds they might be in the wrong. Those that knew they were in the wrong didn't think it was a big deal.
I've got friends (English / Irish) in Florida who drive their RV up into Canada. They don't have guns so no problem with the border. Sometimes they are part of a group and quite a few others have an armoury in their RV's. Some accept handing over the guns whilst in Canada whilst others just end up not crossing the border, and possibly wouldn't be allowed in after arguing with Canadian customs over their right to carry guns. There are lots of tv programmes on border controls in Canada / NZ / Australia.
The Chinese and mercans feature greatly.
Particularly on the Canada border, they get a lot of mercans turning up armed or drunk or drugged who are absolutely amazed they get stopped / arrested, and then for having weapons , cannabis etc which are confiscated.
Quite a few Mercans get very offended at even being stopped for checks..
The Chinese it appears to be foodstuffs / cigarettes they try to smuggle in..
