Running Engine Ashore

Being up on blocks I pre fill a large storage container ,( on its own block) placed close to the hull inlet and feed from it via a short hose rammed into the inlet.A jubilee clip on the hose just below the inlet allows it to be jammed into place with a light prop.A couple of filled buckets standing by allow a top up as the level drops.
Gives me about 15 minutes at low revs ,saves bringing out a long, heavy hose, and avoids taking the cooling water hose off the strainer repeatedly.
The engine is specd. as lifting a metre max and I can halve that .

What do you suppose would be the harm in running the engine, while the boat is in a cradle? Personally, I wouldn't do it if the boat was just shored, unless the shores were all well fixed with cross bracing.

I have a bucket fitted with a hose. The hose is jammed into the engine cooling water inlet skin fitting, and the bucket is tied off about level with the waterline. A water hose keeps the bucket full and slightly overflowing

No supposition. Just sharing yard rules.
