Rudder Angle Indicator

Re: MGBO Charity

Would it not be a good idea to start a Missguided guided Boat Owners Charity for the poor souls like Brendan. Would it be a just cause?? Or is he a hopeless case and not worth the effort.../forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

Re: But Brendan........

Oh well, there's always one smart arse with a clever dick response isn't there ! /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

OK, if you really want to complicate things by having two steering wheels, then you're right, having a turks head know wont work. Obviously. .............you need two turks head knots. one for each wheel /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

Turks head knot??

blimminek brendan you must've been on some poncy saily boats, or have been reading books again.

The standard method of showing dead ahead (esp on ragboats) is to get some insulating tape on the wheel: this shows exactly where it isn't QUITE dead ahead, cos it is always a bit to one side or another. I do hope zefender hasn't let me down on this specification...

Re: Turks head knot??

It comes of spending too much time reading scuttlebutt stuff - really should stop before I pick up any more bad habit

From recollection, didn't notice any markings on Zefs boat. Mind you it was too blimmin wet to see anything most of the time, so wouldn't have made any difference anyway

The Davis rudder indicator is a great piece of kit at ~$20. Used one for years until I had boat w/autopilot, then the Davis is redundant - well it won't work w/autopilot anyway.
