While the existing rubbing strake could be Afromosia, it's worth pointing out that Afromosia is now unavailable, as it is on the CITES list of endangered species. No reputable wood merchant will supply it, unless they have some old stock.
That said, Afromosia doesn't weather like teak, although it was used as a teak substitute in the 1960s. It remains dark coloured, rather than weathering to silvery gray. THe cockpit coamings on Halcyon 27s were Afromosia; my dad owned one.
