Is there a difference between 'Fuel Grade' hose and 'Oil Grade' hose. I need a short length to go from the oil pump out connection on the engine and the valve and oil change pump when I refit my 2040. I have some fuel grade hose, but an engineer at the boat show said it wasn't good enough.

(The previous owner had used water hose and it leaked oil everywhere!)

Yes there is a difference. The oil pipe has to take high pressure at high temperature. Fuel hose is not usually designed for high temperatures. If you have an ASAP catalogue there are oil pipes with swaged end fittings designed for oil coolers that might do your job on page 20 Part nos 203512-203626 Their phone no is 0845 1300 870.

Ok -thanks for that. The pipe won't be under pressure in the way that pipes to oil coolers are pressurised, as the only pressure forcing oil up the pipe is the crankcase pressure which is hopefully not too high. I will visit Pressure Lines in Cattedown, Plymouth who seem to stock most things and dig in my pocket again...
