My Avon has rubber rowlocks with a hole in the top to put the oar in, similar to those below.
When rowing hard the rubber flexes and the oar jumps out.
There is a bungee attached to stow the oats with a warning to disconnect begore rowing.
Is it just me or is there a trick to keeping the oars in the rowlocks?
