Weather forecast is a tad dire for this saturday:

I did one years ago in very light conditions - they shortened course to finish at Bembridge Ledge and we and the other 1800 finished in the dark at about 2300.
It was a magical experience coming round the back surrounded by navigation lights, but if its the same this year do take loads of beer - we ran out

Yes, it looks like a very light airs race... still it is only a forecast (hope, hope)

The low to the west could come in a bit faster and squeeze the high. This is modelled in one or two forecasts I've seen.

Seriously, does anyone recall the race ever being called off for lack of wind?

I remember one year having to kedge off St Cats in similar conditions, but the afternoon brought a breeze off the land.

Secretly relieved to see the forecast as we're slipping tomorrow and will be antifouling Saturday. Back in Tuesday.

Re: Where did you get the picture

First go to http://www.onpassage.com/

select "Weather" then "Weather Area Forecasts Worldwide - select area from Map"

Select "UK" then "Charts - 5 Days" The isobar charts are then revealed. Alternatively after "Charts - 5 Days" select "Alternative Site" and you can then watch the weather charts changing (which is where I got the file from)

Hope that is clear enough /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

if not go straight to here

This says it all:

We are off to East Head for the beach day with the kids

Hope you all get a sea breeze but I fear the inversion will not allow it to kick off.
