The fishing vessel Ocean Challenge ARRIVED at Shetland circa 6am this morning - when she ploughed into the island of Whalsay at 10 knots! Ocean Challenge pulled off the rocks by pelagic trawler Serene

Fortunately Whalsay is one of the main centres of fishing in Shetland so she was able to be towed off by another large fishing vessel.
A bit of an abrupt wake up call.

Strange, they had made all the necessary course changes in the run up to the incident. A technical problem?
Completely straight course and consistent speed for last 30 minutes right to the point of impact. Could be a technical fault?
Or could be fallen asleep in the dark?
Amazingly seems to have not been too seriously holed, as off within 7 hours and proceeded on to Lerwick at the same 10 knots.
