This evening I have been working on the first video. If the weather is foul tomorrow then it has a good chance of getting completed. It will cover leaving Chatham to entering the Humber. I have completed to Wells and it is at about 8½ minutes. Further editting may reduce this slightly, but there are few clips longer than 5 seconds, so you should find it interesting and give a feel for the journey I have travelled. In my usual video format I have no music or speech, just video and some words on screen, plus a few maps.

Bit of thread drift so soz and all that........

Further down the coast around the Humber the sea mists are known as sea frets or by the old as I remember as a child, as sea roakes............( thats phonetic as not sure of the spelling.......) A Scandinavian influence is common in the local geographical names etc...... 'Ings' being a common example !
Concerning Sea Roakes, I suspect a Dutch origin: rook means smoke, sea smoke describes the phenonmenon rather well

Gee thanks guys, it is great to be normal!

If I have a known fault, it is I can talk the hind end off a donkey. Just left another newer boat, Rococo, who is doing round Britain via the Cally Canal. Just went for a drink and left after 2½ hours. I was not asked to leave, but they were getting hungry and so was I.

Tied up alongside me in the marina is a Eygene 24 ¼ tonner from Ramsgate that is also doing a round Britain. The 2 men onboard are considering the Shetland Isles, but will decide depending on the weather nearer the time. Then I chatted to another gentleman on the pontoon and he is doing a slow round Britain, expecting to take 2 or 3 years to complete as he keeps leaving his boat to go home to see his wife. So there are certainly a number of fellow sailors undertaking this big adventure, I expect I shall meet a few more. If you see me, come over and have a chat with a drink.

Tomorrow I am heading for Amble. First job before I leave is to fill the water and diesel tanks. Should be a good sail as the wind is predicted to be SE to SW, but it may be a little damp with some thundery showers.

The first video covering Chatham to Spurn Point is complete at just under 10 minutes, so I will try and load it to YouTube once I am in Amble, if I can find some fast wifi. I think it is my best video so far with no clip longer than 10 seconds. It has taken about 10 to 11 hours to edit all the video clips, then add titles and comments. Have plenty of video clips ready to work with for the next video, probably covering Spurn Head to Hartlepool. So, you see I never get bored. There is plenty to keep me occupied when I am not sailing or chatting other boat owners.
