Any suggestions as to what I should do or say to the person who chewed up my brand new mooring lines that I left on my fore and aft mooring?

When we left at the end July, I tied them together stretched between the bouys with a spare bit of line with a fender to float them visibly and as a pick up bouy for my return. Nothing left when I came back except the chewed up end bits hanging off the bouys.

you got rats down your way? Or maybe, your ropes have bitten back at somebody who motored over the top of your mooring!

at least console yourself with the thought of what happened to the prat who tried to go through the gap! probably took him ages to get your lines off his prop.

nah - all that illustrates is what nice chaps MOBOs are and that any self respecting MOBO would have left you a note! /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

Hmm - hadn't thought about liability from my point of view. The mooring is one administered by my club and is the end mooring in the centre trot of moorings wih other moorings in front and all around.

The bouy at the front says "end of trot" or something similar on it and I'd marked the connecting line between the strops with my fender, so I think I'm pretty well in the clear from a duty of care point of view.

Just wish that someone had left their phone number and agreed to pay for the 12 metres of 20mm laid line that I will need to buy to replace the chewed up bits with.
