Hi

Can anyone reccommend an insurer, I'm resident in the UK but am planning to keep my boat in Cork harbour all year, first couple of companies I tried only insured boats berthed in the UK.

I think you'll find that to be the exception rather than the norm.

We had ours (Greece) with GJW Direct but are now with Pantaenius. There was no problem being "foreign" . I do seem to remember though that a couple at the LIBS (possibly Knox Johnston & Nav.&Gen.) were a bit stand-offish when it came to being in the med.

Wonder if they're insured against breaches of the Treaty of Rome. No, probably couldn't afford it -- followed more in the breach than the observance

Yachtsman Euromarine (now merged) tend to have the best rates. Affinity is quite good also.

You don't mention what size or age you boat is, I found a lot of companies unwilling to insure my older and smaller boat. But in the end Hibernian were the cheapest and easiest to use.
