Am on the point of signing up for a trip in Roger's Time Machine and just have to finalise the logistics.

Options are:

1. Get ferry from Harwich at end of May and then get train to Rotterdam Centraal.

2. Stowaway on an ECF boat going to either Ostend or Bruges then get train to Rotterdam Centraal.

3. As 2. but at Bruges, stowaway on board Vince's boat and go with him to Vince's home port where Roger's Time Machine will be (maybe).

Obviously for 1. above I don't need to tie in with anyone other than Roger, but for either of options 2 or 3, I need ECF involvement.

Have I got that right Roger?

That's about it.

You might have mentioned that, being chivalrous, I had offered to meet you in Rotterdam and escort you through the vagaries of bus travel in Holland but hey ho

I'm a bit worried about Vince's second leg.

Terribly sorry  to have not mentioned your chivalry Roger, I thought it went without saying :D You being a Time Lord and all that.

Will be leaving Shotley in the early hours of Friday for Zeebrugge then Bruges we have a spare berth at the moment only 3 of us going so plenty of room. I should be at Shotley this weekend if you would like to see the boat and me:D

That sounds like a plan. Thanks. I shall be down at SYH this weekend so could tie up with your over the weekend. Could you PM me your mobile number so we can make arrangements?

We may be able to help too....

At mo looks like a departure from The Royal Harwich YC around Fri 27th May 2030 to hit LandGd HW +2 for the tidal planning gateways as per nth sea pilot. Aiming to make Oostende mid afternoon Saturday 28th.

We have me plus a likely crew of 2 (defo +1 with one to confirm) on board and a 4th wouldn't be a problem. Would be good to have the company and extra pair of eyes for the TSS's!

So if you need to make contact feel free to PM.

Ben

Plan seems to be coming together nicely now thanks to the wonderful ECF.

Vince - Thanks for your PM. I haven't looked at any maps charts or anything so have no idea what's going on on where you are taking me to, but I'm just assuming you and Roger have the same destination in mind. Could you PM me a contact number?

Pete - Thanks for giving me your mobile number and berth location at Shotley. I will meander along some time Saturday but will ring you first to sort out suitable time. Looking forward to meeting you and very many thanks for offer of passage. I need to read the Bruges thread now to get up to speed on what's going on there, but no doubt you will tell me more on Saturday.

Ben - Thank you for your very kind offer but I think I am sorted now. Wasn't expecting an embarrassment of offers :o

Roger - Reporting for duty, sir.

I can accommodate you on the second leg of option 3, which will save you the bus journey from Rottendam to Numansdorp.
Is Numansdorp your home port, on the Haringvlet? Do you Know Robert & Marca(?) HR34 Resist, We met them in Holland last year in Wemeldinge and again in Herkingen. if so say hello to them from Peter & Viv HR34 Dectina.

It's where I'm dropping Bernie off. My home port is Noordschans, a bit further down Hollandsch Diep and on the South side.

Oostende

Ben looks like Te Arawa will be making the trip this year providing I can muster the crew. I will be leaving my Pinmill mooring about the same time as you. PM me if you would like to cross in company.
