We've had a long series of earthquakes and tremors here since around 07.00 local today. I was on the boat anchored in around 2M for the two bigger ones at lunchtime which were about 5 miles away from me. The boat shook from the first one and i knew from previous experience it was a +4. The second one coming so soon worried me a bit as that's a bit unusual. I'm a glass half full guy and assuming the pressure release valve was activated and things won't get any worse. The glass half empty folks [of which there are many] are staying out of their homes and work places in case these are a precursor to the big one.
Anything with Kuşadası, Aydin, Izmir and Sisam(Samos Island) in the location column are all local to me.

What does it feel like when you're on the hook? Vibration or swell etc?

Boat shaking - you could describe it as vibration I suppose - I assume it's the seabed under the anchor shaking and being transmitted to the boat via the chain. No swell where I was that I noticed. It was pretty calm but there are always occasional waves from bigger boats passing at speed in the bay particularly ferries and the coastguard.
There was a 6.9 here in the bay on 30 Oct 2020. We were anchored in the same place for that and we knew it was a biggy. We upped anchor immediately and headed for the marina arriving just the same time as the tail-end of the tsunami which caused huge damage up the coast in Seferihisar and Teos marina.

Doesn't make hima bad person. Anyway I looked as far as the first three on wiki.....seems like that mebbe where the site gets its information from wiki agrees.

Did you see the bit where you can feed back if you felt the tremor?
I did see it and like so many other things on the Internet I ignored it - it was called the world wide WEB for a reason.

All I know about earthquakes comes from a few articles, plus the news when it hits the fan somewhere - enough to make quite happy to live in a geologically stable area, but why head for land? All my instincts would be to get out into deep water where any tsunami would be centimetres high rather than metres.

Truthfully I wasn't thinking about a tsunami at that time. Our 16 year old daughter was at home doing online classes [covid] and, if you'll pardon the pun, she was more than a bit shaken by the experience so we were anxious to get home to her.

I hadn't realised just how unstable the entire planet is!

Earthquakes around the British Isles in the last 60 days

So thanks, OP, got me googling and learning a lot. (y)

I’ve spent the last few years in Uzbekistan where minor earthquakes were a weekly occurrence- got quite blasé about them.. however a big one did flatten Tashkent in the 1960s, so it was always a little nerve wracking!
