I understand how you feel .Over the years have been involved in taking on new crew only to find that 90% of them fail on the eyesight. It does create a bad feeling sometimes. In my experience it is worthwhile having another go at joining and the eyesight test.
Once in they seem to relax the standard a wee bit--depends on the Staions Hon Medical Officer.
