RNLI. Commercial corporate sponsorship?

Just got the questionnaire from the RNLI about their considering raising income from commercial sponsorships.

I was just wondering what other people thought of the idea.

Sounds ok to me. If it means bods on water when us lot are in trouble then I am going to dig deep.

Agreed. I can't think of any reason why this is not an OK idea if it means they can maintain/improve the present set up.

Does this mean they'll have MARLBORO COUNTRY, and/or the Golden Arches plastered all over the sides? Although the attracted sponsors might be in the safety business so in a couple of years when you put out that call the "DUREX PROTECTOR" may steam up over the horizon, not that anyone would mind I suppose.
