The installation instructions for the roller reefing mention that…“…the Genoa should be reefed in the same direction as the strands turn on the forestay”
My Genoa has the UV strip on the starboard side so I will be reefing in an anticlockwise direction as seen from the top. Thus, I understand that the forestay strands should also follow an anticlockwise direction then?
Before reading the instructions I was actually thinking that the strands should follow the direction in which the sail is unfurled in order that the ‘drive’ of the sail tightens the strands rather than opening them ?
I am planning of following the manual however would appreciate your views on this?
