Riverside Brasserie RIP?

no, but the Thai Square has gone to be replaced with a Cote Brasserie which looks like it might be worth a go.
Dont bother with the Giggling Squid Thai though unless you call your financial adviser first.

Not easy to find but 'ere 'tis .....

Marina staff said that it would an all day caff serving breakfast, coffees etc and then doing meals in the evening. Sounded great. But from the images looks like it will be serving pretentious nonsense like everybody else. Don't need dog skids and a 'jus'. Can somebody just give us some good locally sourced food, cooked well and served in a comfortable environment?

IMHO Côte no better than Cafe Rouge. It is part of a chain. But hopefully better than Fego in the high street who will serve scrambled egg from the microwave still shaped like the bowl it was heated in. Carp...

Well, the Riverside Brasserie does have a website although not much to see yet:
www.riversidebrasserie.com

Apparently they are offering 15% discount for MDL berth holders as well as a free Bellini this coming weekend with lunch and dinner bookings ! I am told that is a famous Prosecco and Peach cocktail made famous by Harry's Bar in Venice in the 1930's - No-Regrets will know all about that then ! :D

Mrs No Regrets is the Bellini fan! Also nice with Champagne and Strawberries IMHO, but as you say, a World class cocktail!

Sadly the first weekends reports of the establishment were not at all good, with Ramages neighbour saying how he waited two hours for a dried out shoe-sole in lieu of a 'Well done Steak' and the fact he wouldn't rush back.

Lets hope it was a one-off, because frankly I won't go at all unless I hear of a couple of good (And with that level of pricing, I mean very very good...) reviews...

"Chef Marek continues: “We want to offer our customers the option to visit us at any time of the day whatever the weather and enjoy this wonderful setting. We can guarantee you will always be met by our cheerful and attentive team.”

This is a very bold statement to make, he must have taken on new staff because the old staff were not very welcoming.

As far as Marlow is concerned the Vanilla Pod is on the high side if you can get a booking.

we popped in just for a look over the weekend and had a quick look at the menus. the lunchtime menu seemed quite reasonable (fish & chips at about £10), and some of the food coming out looked nice.
But the evening menu, not only looked very limited, but also the prices seemed to go up to an average £25 per main course, with sides extra at about £4.00 !!
