River retirement planning.

Hello all, planning a few years ahead but what would the forum recommend for river day boat/odd overnight. I like the English harbour, what else is in that category?

Things like the Dutch river boats from Linssen are very well made and smart.

From my experiences messing about on rivers I would look for an outboard powered boat. Easy to service and fix. Being petrol powered they warm up quick and don't smell when the wind is behind you. And when you inevitably hit something, props are easy to change and cheap enough to keep a spare. Then shallow draft and a spacious cockpit for warm evenings.

Various engines from trolling power to 200hp Yanmars, and quite a few to choose from. Cracking looking things, and will take lots of people on a nice day.

I really fancy one of these to cut costs but my Wife prohibits downsizing

What about the green line 33 - a bit marmite but I actually like it and always thought it would make a good river/estuary boat in electric guise

The Greenline did pop into my mind but would like a bit of open boating. The Dutch definitely do seem to have this area covered. Is there a boat show over there?

Best one is boot in Düsseldorf - biggest indoor show in the world and most of the Dutch builders turn up en mass
