Hi,

We have just bought a new boat. She is berthed at the top of the Hamble and the current yard where she is at the moment are proving difficult to arrange a lift onto transport for next week.

Can anyone suggest other places to use? It will need to be an AM lift next week. We may need to berth her for 1-4 days to at the same place.

Thanks

MDL use Hamble Yacht Services, Mercury, Port Hamble or Hamble Point. Universal also run by HYS, or Premier Swanwick have their own cranes.

Used all - all good!

Premier Swanwick tends to be heavily booked in advance; I recently found RK Marine to be very helpful with a short-notice lift.

Cheers
Jimmy

Swanwick has given a good quote so may head down to them on Sunday and get her lifted on Thurs as planned. Is it far down the river from Foulks? Where is the best place to get petrol as may go for a quick run?

I wondered if you might be at Foulkes from the initial post, they are restricted with tides on their slip at this is a neaps week which I think is a bit worse for them.

Swanwick Marina is just under the bridges and round the corner, cant be more than 1/4 of a mile.

Faulkes is ideal at most tides but the brothers are on holiday this week. Unfortunately Paul the lift opperator of many years died about 2 weeks ago after a short and sudden illness.

Oh thats sad, he was such a lovely quiet and unassuming chap, always took great care with my boat. Poor fella.

That really is sad. He was not that old and always seemed cheery whenever we had dealings with him. Just goes to show life is not a rehearsal!
