Becareful of the spec of alt mounts, a few years back we had a Vetus 2 cylinder fitted to a Hurley 27. Enginer had problems linning up prop shaft using the Vetus damped mounts, so replaced them with Metalastic undamped ones. The first failed after 10 mile due to the inbalence of a 2 cylinder motor, Had to fit the damped ones in the end, but that's another nightmere.
Have you tried Key ( think it's that spelling not Quay ), they do cheaper Volvo parts I think.

Best of luck

ask your dealer to check the price again
vp have recently (very) dropped the price of some mounts
watch you have the correct spec of mount as it can vary front + back and by which gearbox is fitted

Re: Ripoff Volvo - Really????

JOHNBOY,

£75 ea???? You'll find, assuming your 2002 is connected to the MS2 series gearbox rather than the far rarer PRM Delta box that both the forward and rear mounts are....

These are the current VPUK RRP.

pn. 838262 £56.02 (£65.82 inc Vat)

If you do have the PRM then...

pn. 858455 £72.20 (£84.84 inc Vat)

Of course its different if yours is a saildrive or v-drive option.

OK??

I have an MD5 with a saildrive and last year had to replace the rubber hull seal and metal ring (v.expensive)
When I re-installed the engine I found that the front engine mounts were nackered as well. The price of new mounts
was £80 each which making another large hole in my budget. Solution : I went round some car spares dealers
and was directed to German and Swedish in Brixton where I bought some very similiar mounts for an Audi 80
for £5 each. The engine is a bit joggly at low revs but the mounts have seen a season`s use so far.
