RIP Rodney Bewes

+1. Saw him often at HRR, in pole position at the finish on the boom, brolly up, glass of fizz in hand, perfick.

He was down here in his cottage, has had cancer for a while. Something else went wrong on sunday, he called the ambulance himself. Some of the fishermen went to see him yesterday, but he was not very good, don't think he was really with us by then.

Very sad. He was on the theatre circuit a couple of years ago with a talk show and TBH didn't look very well then. Happy memories, RIP.

He had/ has a cottage here, for many years it was for sale at a too high price, I think the bank was pushing, and Bolam, who RB said, had become an ACTorr, refused to let the Likely Lads be rebroadcast. Then something happened to improve things, Rodney arrived, tore down the for sale sign and jumped up and down on it.
