Yes she has been banned so can not get onto here to send emails so hence my copy and paste Email sent 12th September once I found out I had been banned. It was returned 3 days later as unsent!
I am advised to contact you but impossible as I keep getting reminded that I am banned and have no access to any 'contact us' buttons!

I am sorry that you have had to 'ban' me for good. I obviously breached the forum regulations but without intention to do so.

I saw that my late Grandfather 'Percy Blandford' was a popular forum on this site and in my excitement to share to the boating world that, at long last Petcy's Autobiography is now available I didn't take into consideration the regulations of advertising.

Once again I am sorry, and maybe one day you could lift the ban? As I very much enjoy reading his forums, and they are very much (to me) part of his archives.

I have written (again) to Carole and asked for her sister to get in touch. I've explained again how multiple posts by a new person can be misinterpreted. I've also given explicit details of how to contact Mike and explained how a brief apology for the multiple posting advertising the book and an explanation of who she is and the circumstances might help sort things out.

I've also apologised if any scepticism on our part as to who is who was upsetting, but I've also asked her to understand how lots of people claim they are someone they're not on the www and it's easy to become cynical.

I hope that they get in touch and this can be resolved.

Thank you to Diane for the message passed on The answer to how to contact if you are banned is that if Diane (Mrs Fru Fru) logs out of YBW and then looks at the forum as an unregistered guest, there's a 'contact' button right at the bottom of the page. Can you pm me with the email address that you tried and which bounced. In the meantime I will point out this thread to Mike (the professional Forum Admin Team person)

So then since its obviously not a promotional issue after all merely a breach of the rule on multiple posting is it not time for FAT to admit to being unnecessarily heavy handed and reinstate one of the posts in whichever is the most appropriate place.

However congrats on raising the awareness of PB's autobography to a higher level than his grand daughter ever intended or anticipated. It could become a best seller this Xmas

I've been thinking the same thing; it must be worth Diane having at least another 500 printed, possibly a lot more; I don't think it would be her style but no doubt some publishers would capitalise on all this,

as an additional thought . How many posts does a new user have to make before one goes live. I seem to remember that you have to post quite a few before one appears, could she have tried to post with no result, then tried to post again, no result etc ,until one appeared

Maybe I am an innocent in these matters, but the times that this site has been spammed by posters they always seemed to be plastered over all the different forums rather than keeping to discrete 'on topic' threads...

Carol says she didn't make multiple posts, so those shown on the screen shot may be because a new user doesn’t see their first post appear strait away and so presses the submit button again and may be again because they think it hasn’t been sent?

My copy arrived yesterday, "A Life Full of Hobbies" and I find it interesting reading about the life and times now past and reminding me how different things were then and of my own years growing up so many years ago. Well worth getting hold of your own copy.

I must say I haven't seen the YBW forums get spammed for a while; after recent events this strikes me as -

A, Good work by the newly revealed to a lot of us FAT or

B, I wonder what other gems we've had censored away ?!

I do understand the spamming problem, even with the little owner's association I run I often get propositioned by Korean ship yards, industrial pump / bulk stainless steel/ pipe/ electrics etc suppliers - pretty sure no-one at these places has seen my offering, some go-between must spot ' ah, website, marine subject ' !

They go live as soon as a mod approves them... About the first five have to be approved then they go live automatically. If these were all posts by a new user somebody must have let them through........ then someone else decided they should be removed.
I wonder if some miserable b.......... reported them.

maybe only the 6th went live which would be why she thought only one had been posted
