I never met him but met his son Magnus a few times, in fact he joined the group at Southampton when we ordered our boat and made several contributions. He also gave the shortest after-dinner speech I have ever heard, about one sentence. The old man must have been an amazing businessman and organiser. I saw his HR 62 at Ellos once, looking immaculate after its return from sailing round the world, supposedly by Rassy and his wife but allegedly with the assistance of many of his colleagues.
